Social Worker

Our Social Worker, Kerri Denell, was born in Dallas, Texas where her family still resides. Kerri graduated from Barry University in Miami, Florida with her bachelors and masters degrees in Social Work. Kerri’s previous experience includes partnering with Nebraska’s Health and Social Services to offer parents and children support in an effort to reunite them as a family unit. In addition, Kerry spent five years developing community programs and writing grants to create opportunities for nursing students to serve in South Florida. Kerri’s hospice experience includes work in Southern California, Beatrice (NE), and Lincoln (NE) for the past several years. Kerri has a passion for end of life care and sees her work as a privilege as she listens and shares an individual and family’s life story. Kerri loves working as a team to offer physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort to each of the clients she serves, helping to promote quality time in a person’s last days. Promoting an individual’s dignity and worth and inspiring one to make the most of each moment are Kerri’s goals as she teams with HoriSun Hospice.
