Lacey Bessinger, BSW

Bereavement Coordinator

Lacey was inspired to become a social worker by her mother, who was a social worker for the State of Nebraska for 32 years and then got her master's degree in counseling at the age of 44. Lacey received her undergraduate degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2018 and will go back to NWU for her master's degree in the Fall of 2022. She has worked with diverse populations, ranging from corrections and forensic mental health, to developmental disability, and the elderly and disabled. Through her varied experiences and working with people from a variety of groups, she believes she can meet people where they are in their grief. It is an honor to be trusted with helping them through this difficult time in their lives. Lacey volunteers with the Four Corners LOSS Team (Local Outreach of Suicide Survivors) and is passionate about suicide prevention. As a hobby, she enjoys tending to her many house plants and spending time with her husband and three dogs.
